A civil lawsuit accusing music producer Metro Boomin of raping a woman in a Beverly Hills hotel nearly a decade ago will proceed to trial next month after attempts to resolve the case through mediation collapsed.

Court records filed Monday in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California show that both sides participated in a court-ordered mediation on July 18 but were unable to reach an agreement. “The parties mediated in good faith. However, the litigation did not resolve,” the joint status update reads. It adds that limited settlement talks continued after the mediation but ultimately “proved unsuccessful.”

The plaintiff, Vanessa LeMaistre, filed her complaint last October, alleging that Metro Boomin, born Leland Wayne, sexually assaulted her in 2016 after the two became acquainted through his music work. According to the lawsuit, LeMaistre met Wayne while dealing with the grief of losing her nine-month-old son. She claims the producer invited her to his recording studio on several occasions, offering her a place to listen to music and talk.

On the night of the alleged assault, LeMaistre says she consumed half a Xanax and was later given a shot of alcohol at Wayne’s studio. She alleges she fell asleep on a couch and later woke up in a bed in an unfamiliar location, where Wayne was assaulting her. The complaint states that Wayne later told her they were at a Beverly Hills hotel. She says she was then transported back to the studio in a chauffeur-driven SUV, where her car remained parked.

The lawsuit asserts that she was incapable of consenting to any sexual activity due to her impaired state and describes Wayne’s conduct as “without question” constituting rape. LeMaistre also claims she later learned she was pregnant and chose to terminate the pregnancy.

Her legal team further alleges that Wayne referenced the incident in lyrics from the 2017 track “Rap Saved Me,” which he produced. The lawsuit cites lines that include: “She took a Xanny, then she fainted… She drive me crazy, have my baby.”

LeMaistre’s attorney, Michael J. Willemin, told Rolling Stone his client is prepared to take her case before a jury. “When we first filed this case, Mr. Wayne’s lawyers predictably claimed that the allegations were false and that he would ‘defend himself in court.’ Since then, Mr. Wayne has failed to comply with basic discovery obligations and court orders in an apparent effort to avoid accountability,” Willemin said. “We have pushed the case forward aggressively, and we look forward to holding Mr. Wayne accountable in front of a jury of his peers.”

His legal counsel, Lawrence Hinkle II, previously told TMZ the lawsuit was “a pure shakedown” and insisted the accusations were false. Hinkle said Wayne “refused to pay her months ago, and he refuses to pay her now” and vowed to file a malicious prosecution claim if his client prevails in court.

Despite the looming trial, Wayne has remained active in his career. Earlier this month, he released Futuristic Summa, a double-length mixtape featuring collaborations with Future, Young Thug, 21 Savage, Quavo, Lil Baby, T.I., Gucci Mane, and emerging artist Breskii, among others.

With no resolution reached, the trial is now scheduled to begin in Los Angeles on Sept. 23, 2025.
