Adele and Simon Konecki just recently finalized their divorce. She had first filed for divorce in September 2019 after a split the month before. According to USA Today, “The British singing superstar married Konecki, co-founder of Life Water, an eco-friendly brand of bottled water, in May of 2018, according to court documents.” They have joint physical and legal custody of their eight-year-old son Angelo, and neither will be paying child support. According to a representative of Adele, “They are committed to raising their son together lovingly. As always they ask for privacy. There will be no further comment.” Any other information on their child custody agreement is in a different judgment that was filed privately, and all other terms of the split will be determined through mediation. Also, according to USA Today, “The papers say they will seek to resolve any issues without litigation.” Adele did not even announce their marriage until the 2017 Grammys, when she called him “my husband.” While married, Adele kept her maiden name and was Adele Adkins.

Toward the end of their relationship, they were barely together. According to Daily Mail, “Adele was said to have enjoyed being stateside while Simon preferred to be in the UK with family and friends, combined with work trips which took him away from his wife.”

After the split in 2019, Adele spent a lot of time with her child and focused on improving herself. “She’s free and spirited and feels like a new person. She’s happy, healthy and eager to continue to better herself,” according to a source at People. She also lost about 100 pounds after the divorce and debuted this new figure on Saturday Night Live where she was the host and not a musical guest. On being only the host she said the following in her opening monologue: "I know there's been a lot of chatter about me just being the host. I've seen all of that. Like, why isn't she the musical guest? There's a couple of reasons. My album's not finished and I'm also too scared to do both. I'd rather just put on some wigs … have a glass of wine or six and just see what happens." Then, about her physical appearance, she went on to say, “I know I look really, really different since you last saw me. But actually, because of all the COVID restrictions… I had to travel light and I could only bring half of me. And this is the half I chose.”

There were some rumors of other people she has been dating. For example, she was rumored to be dating British musician Skepta, 38, real name Joseph Junior Adenuga Jr. However, she shut down those rumors with an Instagram post after her appearance on Saturday Night Live: “Had the best time on SNL! Thank you to the most wonderful cast, crew, writers and producers. What a sublime bunch of people you are.

“Lorne thank you for believing in me! Lindsay my sister for life, Maya my comedy and Mama hero! Plus the so up for it audiences at both the dress rehearsal and live show!

“I did it for the joy of it and I hope you got some from it too! Good luck with the election America I love you so much. Look after each other and go easy on yourselves. Happy Halloween!

“I'm going back to my cave now to be the (single) cat lady that I am! Peace out ‘til next year.”
