Sophie Turner and Joe Jonas, once the picture-perfect Hollywood couple, are currently involved in a prolonged divorce battle. The former couple, who exchanged vows in May 2019, are now navigating the legal process of terminating their marriage. Jonas initiated the divorce proceedings by filing in Miami in September 2023.

Central to their divorce dispute has been the custody of their two daughters, Willa and Delphine. Turner, expressing her desire to relocate to her home country of England with the children, has faced opposition from Jonas, who prefers to keep them in the United States.

Turner's legal action against Jonas intensified when she accused him of withholding their children's passports which prevented them from traveling to England. In response, Turner filed a lawsuit against Jonas, alleging wrongful retention of the children.

Following the dismissal of the lawsuit, the estranged couple had an interim consent order in place, facilitating shared custody and outlining visitation rights. As reported by Us Weekly, the two were able to agree on a temporary custody arrangement which recently expired in January.

Despite efforts to reach an amicable resolution through mediation, disagreements over the children's primary residence has persisted. Turner has now sought to reactivate their divorce case in Miami-Dade County, Florida. Seeking court intervention to resolve their disputes, Turner requested a judge to adjudicate on the custody issues and formally end their marriage.
